of the salon is to provide customers with the type of service that we ourselves would expect. Thorough consultations are key to understanding and being in sync with clients wishes and stylist capabilities to achieve the desired looks. Consultations when done are the best way to decide if a style is appropriate for the clients features as well as their lifestyle. Lifestyles are very important it tells the stylist if the client will be replicating the styles on their own or if it should be modified for wash and wear. Customer service starts from the first time a client contacts the salon. A warm greeting goes a long way. We try to offer small touches from beverages while visiting to loyalty rewards for being a valued customer and conveniences like online booking. We welcome all suggestions, comments or concerns they can be made while in the chair or in private through an email.
I opened Styles by Jeffrey in October of 2009. I chose the location for the neighborhood vibe and the store for its unique appearance. The Salon environment and design is borrowed from the neighborhood. I want everyone coming in the salon to feel like they are welcome and meant to be here. I loved how the neighborhood had a very inviting feeling and community togetherness about it. I love the City because you can have the hustle and bustle or you can melt into the neighborhoods and be apart of it. The salon is very gender neutral we want everyone to feel welcome. While women have always been important to salons, men are equally important to us and deserve the same attention to details. We offer services for both men and women beyond their hair. We are a salon environment that welcomes everyone but does not try to be everything to everyone. We offer services that we know are important to you as the client we do not push add on services that we don’t back up for the sake of making a dollar. We only carry products that we use in our salon and believe in and using them during your services.
I have been a full service stylist since 2005 working in all aspects of the Salon and Business. I’ve been living and working in Chicago since June 2006 working and building a career and strong client relationships. It is important to be educated about everything that you do. I believe that it is as important to educate yourself as well as your clients on the best ways to take care of their hair. I am always interested in taking classes on new styles, techniques and product knowledge.
My skills include cutting, coloring, styling, texturizing, keratin treatments, relaxers, perms, waxing and many more things. I am passionate about cutting most of all. The haircut is to me the foundation of everything that you will do to the hair after that. I enjoy fun new color techniques when asked to do something out of the box with placement of color or tones and shades.
In the search of the perfect career and path for my life I looked at my goals and where I wanted to be in life. I knew after all the years of working jobs for other people that I wanted to be in charge of changing the rules for my own life. This is when I decided that I would open my own salon. I needed to know that if I didn’t like the way something is done I could change it.
I am currently working on a long time goal of mine to become an educator for one of my favorite men’s lines. I plan on expanding my knowledge and skills until the day I set the shears down for the last time.
Erin / Stylist
My name is Erin, I am born and raised in Chicago. I graduated from Paul Mitchell the School Chicago, where I was a very active student in their various extra curricular teams. I was a member of their Take Home Team, helping in the award for the best retail display in all of the Paul Mitchell Network. I also helped in mentoring the incoming students, as well as assisting the teachers in regular class. I then went through an intense one year Redken Summit Associate training program, where I spent many hours working to perfect my craft.
I went through extensive color, cutting, styling, Keratin Complex and business classes in order to learn to better serve my clientele. I have been trained to service anyone who sits in my chair with the highest level of customer service and 100% satisfaction. Not only do I feel it is my job to make someone look and feel better, but also educate them on the best way to recreate their look on a daily basis at home.
I love nothing more then to make people feel beautiful, create lasting relationships and do my very best to put forth the highest level of service I can. There is no better feeling then the first look a client takes at a service they have received and their face lighting up! Not only do I have a passion for hair, but also a passion for make up. I love what a quick touch up of a eye or lip can do for someone, as well as a full face application/lesson on how my client can incorporate simple tips into their everyday life.
Jairo / Makeup Artist
My name is Jairo, (pronounced with a spanish j) I began my career in Makeup Artistry in 2012 because I love the creativity that makeup artistry offers. I have been working freelance as a makeup artist and decided that I would like to be able to offer a location to my clients to come when they want to get makeup applications done on a whim. My career has taken me into other peoples lives and allowed me to make their special days the best they can be. I have done many brides, quinceanera, sweet 16, themed event makeup, runway fashion shows etc. I have participated in the 2013 Latino Fashion Week Chicago where we worked backstage with top Latin clothing designers to achieve the runway looks they were inspired by. In 2012 I was fortunate enough to be apart of the Americas Beauty Show and exclusive event for beauty industry professionals to showcase their work and promote services and products. My next project I want to get involved is volunteering with an organization for women and girls with cancer to teach them makeup tips and tricks to make them feel as beautiful outside as they are inside. If you are looking for regular makeup application or airbrush application I have trained in both. I received my training at “Makeup First School of Makeup Artistry” in downtown Chicago, at the school we had class schedules broken down into categories and spent 1-2 weeks on each sub-category. I am always looking for more education and classes always working to evolve my talents, skills and techniques.
